Residential Garage Door Installer/Service & Repair Technician

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Garage Door Technician to join our company. In this role, you will be responsible for the sales and service of residential garage doors at clients homes.

Technicians will travel to various service calls at residential homes throughout the day for maintenance and repair calls as well as the installation of new garage doors.

To be successful in this role, you need to possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, organized and efficient and a great communicator. This position requires physical stamina and the ability to perform heavy lifting.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain garage doors and operators.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues for garage doors and operators.
• Engage with clients, providing clear explanations, solutions, and explaining the install or repair process with kindness and empathy.
• Safely driving company vehicles and ensuring the vehicle is maintained.
• Ensure every service call, install, and site visit is performed with the highest level of attention to detail and following all safety protocols.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Skills and Requirements

• Prior garage door installation and repair experience preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of basic hand and power tools (required).
• Excellent customer service and communication skills; including written, oral, and listening.
• Comfortable using field service management software (on company provided iPad) to efficiently manage work orders and documentation.
• Travel to client locations to provide on-site services and willingness to interact with a diverse clientele on a daily basis.
• Ability to take directions, constructive criticism, and adapt on the fly.
• Ability to lead teams and motivate others.
• Proficient at safely operating heavy equipment including: impact driver, circular saw, reciprocating saw, angle grinder, and misc hand tools.
• Available to work Saturdays if necessary.
• Clean Driving Record.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year

Experience:

• customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
• garage door installation and repair: 3 years (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)
